COMSOFT Established First AMHS Connection Between the Emirates and Oman The German ATC specialist COMSOFT has realized its second international AMHS connection. ABU DHABI/UAE, MUSCAT/OMAN, March 2009 – The very first message based on the future standard AMHS was exchanged between the ATC centres of Abu Dhabi's GCAA and Oman's DCA on March 12th. After establishing the first operational AMHS connection in Europe between Germany and Spain in 2006, COMSOFT succeeded again, this time in another ICAO region. Finishing the user training the time had approached for both ANSPs to focus on modern AMHS technology in order to take better advantages of their AFTN/CIDIN/AMHS systems, delivered by the German ATC specialist COMSOFT. As a result and benefit for its customers, the worldwide leading provider of advanced AMHS solutions could announce another success regarding the ICAO-promoted introduction of the new AMHS standard. Director Air Navigation Services of the GCAA, Mr. Hassan Karam, prompted on this year's ATC Global in Amsterdam, "I congratulate our team at the GCAA and COMSOFT to this major achievement and I am very pleased with the success of this endeavour and that we could establish the very first AMHS connection in the region with our neighbour in Oman. "Due to our supplier's well organized preparation and the resulting smooth integration of this new technology we decided to permanently take AMHS into operational service within the next four weeks in case the currently ongoing tests will further turn out that successful." |
