Lithuania Selected COMSOFT’s AMHS System

State Enterprise Oro Navigacija of Lithuania opted for COMSOFT as preferred provider for the installation of a new AFTN/AMHS messaging system at Vilnius airport.

VILNIUS/LITHUANIA, August 2009 – After a competitive tender phase the German ATC supplier eventually evolved as winning bidder. Subject of the underlying tender was a state-of-the-art AFTN/AMHS aeronautical messaging system for the installation at Vilnius International Airport.

The new system will be realized by means of COMSOFT’s market-leading messaging solution AIDA-NG deployed with the complementary terminal solution CADAS. The AIDA-NG/CADAS product provides fully integrated and harmonized AFTN and AMHS messaging procedures on a single platform and is thus ideally suited for mixed or concurrent operation of both services. At present, the combined AIDA-NG/CADAS messaging product is the only solution on the market which effectively addresses and resolves the major challenge of tomorrow's aeronautical messaging, namely the smooth, "step-by-step" long term transition of services from AFTN to AMHS.

The system’s proven AMHS conformance and interoperability in accordance with the ICAO EUR AMHS Manual guarantees a successful commissioning of AMHS connections with adjacent COM centres.

COMSOFT's proposal was the only one fully in concert with the stringent technical and managerial requirements. Finally, its expertise in the system-related assessment of the EUROCONTROL Safety Regulations for the European ATM (ESARR) as well as the proven Software Assurance Level (SWAL) of the offered product gave the German supplier the cutting edge in the selection process.
