The DF PROFI family offers access to PROFIBUS via layers 2, 7 and DP as either Master, Slave or combination Master, according to EN50170 with data rates of up to 1.5 Mbit/s. Data exchange is realized via a device driver interface and all of the supported protocol variations are part of the loadable firmware. The board is as PCI board available. The CompactPCI version is as spare part available. For PROFIBUS DP/DPV1 the board is supported by the COMSOFT OPC Server and the FDT 1.2 Communication DTM.

FDT 1.2 Communication DTM
By means of the FDT 1.2 Communication DTM, DF PROFI – in combination with any FDT 1.2-capable container program – can be used for configuration of any PROFIBUS DP Slave. Container programs are included in many process control systems. They are also available as stand alone solutions, e.g. Pactware of the Pactware Association.
