The next generation of PROFIBUS PC-boards

Karlsruhe, April 2005 – Today, more than ever, quickness and flexibility sought from automation's different fields of application. To meet these requirements, the PROFIBUS product specialist COMSOFT, situated in Karlsruhe, Germany, has launched the next generation of its PROFIBUS PC-boards.

DF PROFI II works as DP master or DP slave and provides a watchdog function with physical PROFIBUS line disconnection for master class 1 redundancy concepts. If the operational PC system fails, a redundant standby system will seamlessly continue to work. For the user, DF PROFI II provides a high degree of safety, independence and reliability, resulting in higher productivity.

Optionally the board features a 100 Mbit/s connection for future real time protocols on Ethernet basis.

Another new feature is the process data image with time-stamp function that allows the complete documentation of the data traffic on the PROFIBUS network.
