FDT 1.2 Communication DTM

FDT (Field Device Tool) technology standardizes the communication interface between field devices and systems. The key feature is its independence from the communication protocol and the software environment of either the device or the host system. FDT allows any device to be accessed from any host through any protocol. In principle FDT consists of a Frame Application and various DTMs (Device Type Manager) which are loadable within this frame application. The DTMs encompass all slave-specific functions for the configuration of a slave and can be run during the frame application.
